Blue Sea Scout Camp 2007 Mexico
When: The Christmas holidays every year (with optional tropical holiday home-stays with local Scout families).
Where: A beautiful tropical beach in Mexico, near the city of Tepic, in the sunny season (temperatures in the 70's)!
Who: For registered Scouts age 10 thru 17, co-ed, plus the local Mexican Scouts. (Families are welcome to attend the camp and vacation in the nearby resort town. Blue Sea is co-ed because Scouting in Mexico is family centered.)
Adult Participants: up to 10 Commissioners (Parents or Leaders of attending Scouts).
Academy Staff: Mexican & lnternational Rovers, and Camp Chief Ben Walker.
Tuition: $30.US per day, plus food and transportation. Bus fare between the border and Tepic is under $95 each way. Cooked healthy meals can be purchased at the Camp and locally for under $5/meal.
Sign-up now before this Blue Sea is filled! Call me or email today to get a tentative reservation.
This will be my 11th time in this very wealthy part of Mexico, and I can tell you it is safer than a trip to the big city here in the USA. And the local Mexican jungle Scouts are amazing, it's like going back to the days of Baden-Powell.
The Camp is called Blue Sea, basically because our water is not brown. And we get sunshine, warm ocean surf and temperatures in the 70's, not to mention my famous Academy instruction along with co-ed Mexican Scouts. Send your Scout alone or with a buddy or with just a parent. It's not a Troop trip. Instead it's just you and one very real tropical adventure. (Yes Mom, it's probably safer and less expensive than staying home for Christmas.)
